Campaign Finance Penalty Appeals

Pursuant to Va. Code § 24.2-953.6(A), if circumstances made it impracticable to file or request an extension by the deadline or the penalty was wrongfully assessed due to an administrative error, you may file an appeal to the State Board within 60 days of receipt of the penalty.

Pursuant to Va. Code § 24.2-953.6(C), the State Board may, in its discretion, grant relief for good cause shown. For questions related to the appeal process, please contact CFAppeals@elections.virginia.gov.
