Web Accessibility
Through its Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) promotes a high degree of web access for people with disabilities. In coordination with organizations around the world, WAI pursues web accessibility through five primary areas of work: technology, guidelines, tools, education and outreach, and research and development. To help support WAI, this site follows the W3C guidelines for web accessibility, known as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
The Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) is committed to providing web content that is accessible to all citizens of the Commonwealth.
ELECT’s website currently meets WCAG 2.0, Level AA. Further, ELECT is working towards compliance with WCAG 2.1, Level AA.
If you do encounter an accessibility issue on our website, please contact us at adavoter@elections.virginia.gov. Please specify the web page and/or the content, and we will make all reasonable efforts to make that page accessible.
We are constantly reviewing and updating our website to reflect the most up-to-date language translations and elections information. If a document is not yet available in your language of choice, we include a link to the English version. If you discover an issue with translations or the links on our website, please let us know at info@elections.virginia.gov at info@elections.virginia.gov
