Components
The ELECT design system is composed of modular Components, which are simple and consistent solutions to common user interface needs. These Components break content up into chunks of information that users can quickly scan in order to hone in on relevant information.
With a CMS like TerminalFour, some of what is typically thought of as Components - like the Header (language switcher, site menu, quick links and search), Breadcrumbs, and the Footer - are built into the site templates. Those Components will not be included in this section, which focuses on Components that content creators can use to build a page.
New in 2025: components with internal elements (like accordion rows or date boxes) no longer need separate elements in a sub-folder. Those elements are now integrated into the component templates.
Examples of Components
- Banner Components
- Content Components
- Event Components
- Icon/Image Box Components
- Table Components
- Q & A Type Components
Note: Some white background Component examples in the Style Guide have a thin black border to clarify the size and scope of the Component. On the website, there is no border around those Components.
