Body Typeface: Open Sans

Open Sans is a humanist sans serif typeface designed by Steve Matteson, Type Director of Ascender Corp. It was designed with an upright stress, open forms and a neutral, yet friendly appearance. It was optimized for print, web, and mobile interfaces, and has excellent legibility characteristics in its letterforms.

Header Typeface: Oswald

The header typeface for the ELECT website is Oswald. 

Oswald is a reworking of the classic style historically represented by the 'Alternate Gothic' sans serif typefaces. The characters of Oswald were initially re-drawn and reformed to better fit the pixel grid of standard digital screens. Oswald is designed to be used freely across the internet by web browsers on desktop computers, laptops and mobile devices.

Colors

The dominant colors for the site are a dark blue and a very dark grey, with occasional use of a deep red as an accent color. Component backgrounds are sometimes tinted light blue or a light gray.  Banner backgrounds can also be a deeper gray, red or blue. Components with colored backgrounds should be tested for legibility.

An extended pallete of colors has been integrated into the T4 CMS. Many Content Types include dropdown menus for selection of header and/or textcolors. Within the rich text editor used for content elements, there is the capability to select colors through the Format > Formats Menu.

The default Header color for pages is #3D5193, indicated as color-blue-darker in the CMS selectors. The default text color is #505050, indicated as color-gray-darkest in the CMS selectors.
