Christopher E. “Chris” Piper, Commissioner

Christopher E. “Chris” Piper has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Department of Elections. Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission. Prior to this, Chris served as Executive Director of the Virginia Conflict of Interest and Ethics Advisory Council. Before this, he worked in the Department of Elections as Manager of the Campaign Finance Division and as Manager of Election Services.
Prior experience includes Election Services Manager for the Virginia State Board of Elections, consulting in Washington D.C., Campaign Finance Manager for the State Board of Elections, Legislative and Public Affairs Coordinator for the American Meat Institute, and Education Relations Assistant at C-SPAN.
Chris received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
